Artifactory 5.11 on Windows 10
As of my last update in September 2021, Artifactory 5.11 is a fairly old version, and the latest versions of Artifactory have likely been released since then. However, I can provide you with general steps to install Artifactory 5.11 on Windows 10. Please note that these steps are based on the installation procedure for Artifactory on Windows and may require adjustments for newer versions.
Prerequisites:
- Make sure you have Java Development Kit (JDK) 8 or later installed on your Windows 10 machine.
- Set the
JAVA_HOME
environment variable to the installation path of your JDK.
Download Artifactory:
Go to the JFrog website and download Artifactory 5.11 for Windows. You may need to create an account on JFrog's website to access the downloads.Extract the Archive:
Once the download is complete, extract the contents of the Artifactory archive (ZIP) to a directory on your machine. For example, you can extract it toC:\artifactory
.Configuration:
- Open the
artifactory.home
file located in the extracted directory (e.g.,C:\artifactory
) using a text editor. - Change the value of
artifactory.home
to the path where you want to store Artifactory data, artifacts, and configuration files. For example,C:\artifactory\data
.
- Open the
Environment Variables:
- Add a new environment variable named
ARTIFACTORY_HOME
and set its value to the path you specified in theartifactory.home
file (e.g.,C:\artifactory\data
). - Add
%ARTIFACTORY_HOME%\bin
to thePATH
environment variable to make the Artifactory binaries accessible from the command prompt.
- Add a new environment variable named
Startup:
Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
Navigate to the
bin
directory inside the Artifactory installation directory (e.g.,C:\artifactory\bin
).Run the following command to start Artifactory:
artifactory.bat
Access Artifactory:
Once Artifactory is started, you can access it through a web browser using the following URL:
bashhttp://localhost:8081/artifactory
If you encounter any issues, check the logs in the
logs
directory inside the Artifactory installation directory for troubleshooting.
Please note that using an old version of Artifactory may not be recommended due to security and feature updates. Consider using the latest version available on the JFrog website for better performance, stability, and security. Additionally, these steps are general guidelines and may require modification based on the specific version and configuration of Artifactory you are installing. Always refer to the official documentation for your specific Artifactory version for the most accurate installation instructions.
