AWS CLI in CMD and PowerShell
The AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) can be used in both Command Prompt (CMD) and PowerShell on Windows. Here's how you can use the AWS CLI in each environment:
Using AWS CLI in CMD (Command Prompt):
Open Command Prompt: Press the Windows key + R, type
cmd
, and press Enter. This will open the Command Prompt.Install and Configure AWS CLI: If you haven't installed the AWS CLI yet, you can download and install it following the instructions provided by AWS. Once installed, configure the AWS CLI by running the
aws configure
command in the Command Prompt. Enter your AWS access key ID, secret access key, default region, and default output format when prompted.Use AWS CLI Commands: You can now use AWS CLI commands in the Command Prompt. For example, to list your Amazon S3 buckets, you can run:
