Command to set user and password for 802.1X PEAP authentication in Windows
To set the username and password for 802.1X PEAP authentication in Windows, you can use the netsh
command-line tool. Here's an example of how to configure the credentials:
Open a command prompt as an administrator.
Run the following command to list the available wireless profiles:
sqlnetsh wlan show profiles
Note the name of the wireless profile for which you want to set the credentials.
Run the following command to configure the username and password for the desired wireless profile:
sqlnetsh wlan set profileparameter name="<profile-name>" user="your-username" keyMaterial="your-password"
Replace
<profile-name>
with the name of the wireless profile obtained from step 2. Replace"your-username"
with the actual username you want to use for authentication, and"your-password"
with the corresponding password.For example:
sqlnetsh wlan set profileparameter name="MyWiFiNetwork" user="john.doe" keyMaterial="mysecretpassword"
Repeat step 3 for each wireless profile that requires username and password configuration.
After executing these commands, the specified username and password will be configured for the respective wireless profiles on your Windows system. The system will use these credentials for 802.1X PEAP authentication when connecting to the corresponding wireless networks.
Please note that the netsh wlan
commands may require administrative privileges, so make sure to run the command prompt as an administrator. Additionally, ensure that you have the necessary permissions to modify wireless profiles on your system.
