Detect All Top-Level Directories
To detect all top-level directories in a given directory using PowerShell, you can use the Get-ChildItem
cmdlet with the -Directory
parameter. Here's an example:
powershell$directory = "C:\Path\To\Directory"
$directories = Get-ChildItem -Path $directory -Directory
foreach ($dir in $directories) {
Write-Host $dir.Name
}
In the above example, you need to replace "C:\Path\To\Directory"
with the actual path to the directory you want to search for top-level directories.
The Get-ChildItem
cmdlet is used to retrieve all child items (directories and files) within the specified directory. The -Directory
parameter filters the results to only return directories.
The foreach
loop is used to iterate through each directory and display its name using the Write-Host
cmdlet. You can modify the loop to perform any other actions on each top-level directory as needed.
Execute this PowerShell script to detect and display all top-level directories in the specified directory.
