How do you get the Expo CLI server to choose the correct network?
To make Expo CLI server choose the correct network, you can use the --host
option to specify the desired network interface or IP address. Here's how you can do it:
Determine the IP address of the network interface you want Expo CLI server to use. You can find the IP address by running the following command in the command prompt or terminal:
bashipconfig
Look for the IP address associated with the desired network interface (e.g., Ethernet adapter, Wi-Fi adapter).
Start the Expo CLI server with the
--host
option followed by the IP address you obtained in the previous step. For example:bashexpo start --host 192.168.1.100
Replace
192.168.1.100
with the actual IP address you want the server to bind to.
By specifying the IP address using the --host
option, Expo CLI server will listen on that specific network interface, allowing you to access it from devices connected to the same network. Make sure that the device or devices you intend to access the Expo app from are connected to the same network as the one specified in the --host
option.
Note that Expo CLI server usually automatically detects and uses the correct network interface. However, in some cases, specifying the network interface explicitly can be helpful, especially in complex network setups or when you want to bind the server to a specific IP address.
