If your Windows 10 Home edition does not support Hyper-V, you can still install and use Vagrant by following these steps:

Visit the VirtualBox downloads page (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) and download the installer for Windows. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install VirtualBox.
Download and Install Vagrant: Visit the Vagrant downloads page (https://www.vagrantup.com/downloads) and download the installer for Windows. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install Vagrant.
Verify Installation: Open a new command prompt or PowerShell window and type
vagrant --version
. If Vagrant is installed correctly, it should display the version number.Set Up a Vagrant Project: Create a new directory for your Vagrant project. Open a command prompt or PowerShell window, navigate to the project directory, and execute the following commands:
csharpvagrant init
vagrant up
The
vagrant init
command initializes a new Vagrant project in the current directory, creating aVagrantfile
that you can customize. Thevagrant up
command starts the virtual machine based on the configuration in theVagrantfile
.Use Vagrant: With the virtual machine up and running, you can interact with it using Vagrant commands like
vagrant ssh
to log in to the virtual machine, vagrant halt
to stop it, andvagrant destroy
to remove it.
By installing VirtualBox as the virtualization provider, you can use Vagrant on Windows 10 Home edition even without Hyper-V support. VirtualBox provides the necessary virtualization capabilities for running Vagrant boxes.
