I can't get pyw file to run for some reason
Here are a few things you can try if you are having trouble running a .pyw
file:
Make sure you have Python installed on your system and that the
python
command is accessible from your command line.Make sure the
.pyw
file has executable permissions. You can check and set the file permissions using thechmod
command on Linux or macOS, or by right-clicking on the file, selecting "Properties", and then checking the "Read-only" checkbox on Windows.Try running the file from the command line using the
python
command. For example, you can open a command prompt, navigate to the directory where the.pyw
file is located, and then run the following command:python filename.pyw
. This should run the script without launching a console window. If you are still having issues, you can try wrapping your code in a
try/except
block and adding some logging to see if any errors are being raised. You can also try running the file using a.py
extension instead of.pyw
to see if that makes any difference.
Hopefully one of these suggestions will help you get your .pyw
file running.
