Is there a way to filter the command history in Windows using cmder?
In cmder, you can filter the command history by using the Ctrl+R
shortcut to open the command history search. This allows you to search and filter through your previous commands based on the entered search query. Here's how to use it:
Open cmder.
Press
Ctrl+R
. This will open the command history search at the bottom of the cmder window.Start typing your search query. As you type, cmder will filter the command history based on the entered text.
Press
Enter
to execute the selected command from the filtered list.
You can continue to press Ctrl+R
and modify your search query to further refine the filtered command history.
Note that cmder uses the ag
(The Silver Searcher) utility for command history searching. If you don't have ag
installed or it's not in your system's PATH, the search functionality may not work as expected. Ensure that ag
is properly installed and accessible on your system.
If you're having issues with the command history search in cmder, make sure you have the latest version of cmder installed and check the cmder documentation or forums for further assistance.
