List the classes of a .NET namespace in powershell?
To list the classes within a .NET namespace in PowerShell, you can use the Get-Type
cmdlet with the -Namespace
parameter. Here's an example:
powershell$namespace = "System.IO"
# Get the classes within the namespace
$classes = [System.AppDomain]::CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies() | ForEach-Object { $_.GetTypes() } | Where-Object { $_.Namespace -eq $namespace -and $_.IsClass }
# Print the class names
$classes | ForEach-Object { $_.Name }
In the example above, the $namespace
variable is set to the desired .NET namespace. The Get-Type
cmdlet is used to retrieve all types (including classes) within the current domain's assemblies. The result is filtered using Where-Object
to match the specified namespace and to select only class types. Finally, the class names are printed using ForEach-Object
.
Replace "System.IO"
with the actual namespace you want to query. Note that this method retrieves classes from the loaded assemblies within the current domain, so make sure the necessary assemblies are loaded before running the script.
You can customize the output or perform additional operations on the retrieved class objects based on your specific requirements.
