Nodemon command not found issue
The "command not found" issue with nodemon typically occurs when the nodemon package is not installed globally or is not accessible in your system's PATH. To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:
Install Nodemon Globally: Open your command prompt or terminal and run the following command to install nodemon globally:
npm install -g nodemon
This will install nodemon globally on your system, making it accessible from any directory.
Verify Installation: After the installation is complete, you can verify that nodemon is installed correctly by running the following command:
cssnodemon --version
If the installation was successful, it will display the version number of nodemon.
Check Environment Variables: If nodemon is still not recognized, check your system's PATH environment variable to ensure that the directory where the global packages are installed is included. The directory should look something like this:
- Linux/Mac:
/usr/local/bin
- Windows:
C:\Users\{YourUsername}\AppData\Roaming\npm
If the directory is missing from the PATH variable, you can add it manually by following these steps:
Windows:

- Click on "Edit the system environment variables."
- In the System Properties window, click on the "Environment Variables" button.
- In the "System variables" section, select the "Path" variable and click on the "Edit" button.
- Add a new entry with the directory path where nodemon is installed (e.g.,
C:\Users\{YourUsername}\AppData\Roaming\npm
). - Click "OK" to save the changes.
Linux/Mac:
- Open a terminal and enter the following command to edit the
