Running cmd from absolute path has it fail to recognise manage-bde command
When you run cmd
from an absolute path, it might not include all the necessary environment variables, including the paths to system commands like manage-bde
. To ensure that the cmd
instance has access to all the required commands, you should run it from a standard environment.
If you are experiencing issues with manage-bde
not being recognized, follow these steps to run cmd
from a standard environment:
- Open the Start menu and search for "cmd."
- Right-click on "Command Prompt" and choose "Run as administrator" to open an elevated command prompt.
Running cmd
as administrator ensures that you have the necessary permissions to run commands like manage-bde
.
- In the elevated command prompt, navigate to the directory where you want to execute your commands. For example, if you want to work in
C:\example
, use the following command:
batchcd C:\example
- Now, run your desired commands, such as the
manage-bde
command:
batchmanage-bde -status
By running cmd
as administrator and navigating to the desired directory, you should be able to execute commands like manage-bde
without any issues. If you still encounter problems, it's possible that the specific command is not available in your environment or is not accessible with your current user permissions. In that case, you may need to troubleshoot further or check for any restrictions in your system's settings.
