Setting UI Level in a MSI package
To set the UI level in an MSI package, you can use the msiexec
command-line tool with the /qb
or /qn
option to control the level of user interface displayed during the installation. Here's how you can do it:
Open a Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
Navigate to the directory where the MSI package is located.
Run the following command to install the MSI package with a specific UI level:
bashmsiexec /i <path_to_msi> /qb
Replace
<path_to_msi>
with the full path to the MSI file you want to install./qb
specifies a basic UI level. It shows a basic progress bar and a Cancel button./qn
specifies a silent UI level. It installs the package silently without any UI.
Choose the appropriate option based on your desired level of user interface during installation.
You can also add additional command-line options to customize the installation behavior, such as specifying installation properties, logging, and more. Refer to the msiexec
documentation for a complete list of available options.
