Tomcat 9 heap memory setting issue

1 / 1
To adjust the heap memory settings for Tomcat 9, you will need to modify the setenv.sh
or setenv.bat
file in the bin
directory of your Tomcat installation.
On Linux/Unix:
- Open a terminal and navigate to the Tomcat
bin
directory. - Create or edit the
setenv.sh
file. - Add the following line to set the initial and maximum heap size:
makefileCATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx1024m"
This sets the initial heap size to 512 MB and the maximum heap size to 1024 MB. You can adjust these values as necessary for your application.
- Save and close the file.
On Windows:
- Open a command prompt and navigate to the Tomcat
bin
directory. - Create or edit the
setenv.bat
file. - Add the following line to set the initial and maximum heap size:
arduinoset "CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx1024m"
This sets the initial heap size to 512 MB and the maximum heap size to 1024 MB. You can adjust these values as necessary for your application.
- Save and close the file.
Once you have modified the setenv
file, restart your Tomcat server for the changes to take effect. You can verify the heap size by checking the Tomcat logs or by using a tool like jconsole
or jvisualvm
to monitor the JVM.
