Windows store certificate Import certificate authority (ca.crt) + Host private key (host.key) + Host public key (host.der)
To import a certificate authority (CA) certificate, a host private key, and a host public key into the Windows Store, you can use the following steps:
Open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC):
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type
mmc
and click OK.
Add the Certificates Snap-in:
- In the MMC window, go to File -> Add/Remove Snap-in.
- Select "Certificates" from the list of available snap-ins and click Add.
- Choose "Computer account" and click Next.
- Select "Local computer" and click Finish.
- Click OK to close the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog.
Import the CA Certificate:
- In the Certificates MMC, expand the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" folder.
- Right-click on "Certificates" and choose All Tasks -> Import.
- Follow the import wizard to import the CA certificate from the
ca.crt
file.
Import the Host Private Key:
- Expand the "Personal" folder in the Certificates MMC.
- Right-click on "Certificates" and choose All Tasks -> Import.
- Follow the import wizard to import the host private key from the
host.key
file.
Import the Host Public Key:
- Expand the "Personal" folder in the Certificates MMC.
- Right-click on "Certificates" and choose All Tasks -> Import.
- Follow the import wizard to import the host public key from the
host.der
file.
Assign the Private Key to the Host Public Key:
- Double-click on the host public key certificate in the Certificates MMC.
- Go to the "Details" tab and click on "Edit Properties."
- In the properties dialog, go to the "Private Key" tab.
- Click "Assign" and select the corresponding private key certificate.
- Click OK to close the properties dialog.
After completing these steps, the CA certificate, host private key, and host public key should be successfully imported into the Windows Store. They will be available for use by applications that rely on the Windows certificate store, such as web browsers or other applications that require SSL/TLS communication.
